Credentials? No. I’m just a husband, father, and lover of margin notes. I’ve been reading the Bible for over 20 years, and I’ve run the American Christian gamut. I’ve been through hard times, and I have burdens to carry.

So what am I doing here? Basically, I’m just expounding on my own margin notes as I work my way yet again through Scripture. And I do it here because my readings don’t always follow popular interpretations. Because most people don’t enjoy strangers walking up to them with deep questions about their faith, and yet they’ll shout religion from the rooftops on social media. Because I think I know where I’m going, but not really. Because I have doubts, but not really. Because Bonhoeffer was right about the cost of discipleship. Because I want to hear your thoughts, whoever you are.

I started this blog in the Gospel According to Luke because that’s where I was in my reading at the time. I crossreference as I read, and I plan to do that here as well. That means old posts might change over time, which is why I don’t like dating them, and why I encourage comments on even the oldest posts.

This is not something I’m building. It’s something I’m growing. I hope you’ll join me.
